Overview
The Chronology tab is automatically populated by the episodes added to document pages. It provides four views of the case timeline: Calendar, Timeline, Episodes and Legends. All views update in real time as episodes are added, edited or deleted.
Accessing the Chronology tab
Open the case and click the Chronology tab. The tab opens on the Calendar view by default. Switch between views using the four sub-tabs: Calendar, Timeline, Episodes and Legends.

The Calendar view shows episodes as colour-coded events on a calendar. Controls include:
Prev / Next — navigate between time periods.
Month and Year selectors — jump to a specific period.
Visible months — choose how many months to display at once (e.g. 3 months side by side).
Episode label filter — show only episodes matching a specific label.
Episode author filter — show only episodes by a specific author.
In workspace only toggle — show only episodes from pages that are in the workspace.
Download icon — export the calendar view.
Timeline view
The Timeline view plots episodes visually along a horizontal date axis, colour-coded by type. It is useful for seeing the density and distribution of events across the life of the case. Hover over a point to see the episode label and date. Click a point to navigate to the source page.
Episodes view
The Episodes view shows a date-ordered list of all episodes in the case. Each entry shows the episode label, date, type, author and notes. Click an entry to navigate to the source page that the episode was added to.
The Episodes list can be filtered by episode type, author or date range, and sorted in ascending or descending date order.
Legends view
The Legends view shows the colour coding key used across the chronology — mapping episode types to their colours. This is useful for understanding the colour scheme used in the Calendar and Timeline views.
Using the chronology in reports
All chronology data is available as source material for report templates. Data templates set to use Episodes as their source draw from this data. See documents D1 — Templates and D2 — Building & Exporting Reports for details.
