Overview
The AI Chat lets you ask questions about a case in natural language. Answers are drawn from the actual content of the case — OCR-extracted document text, episodes and notes — and include numbered back-references to the source pages used.
Accessing the AI Chat
Open the case and click the AI Chat tab. The left panel shows a list of saved chat conversations. Click New chat to start a fresh conversation.

Chat scope and coverage
The scope of what the AI searches is set using the clip icon in the bottom toolbar of the chat.
Click the clip icon and set case documents — searches across all processed documents in the case or specific.
Another way to access the AI chat based on workspace filtered pages is from the Workspace tab.
Click the Workspace tab, select filtered pages, click Send to AI Chat and ask the question — searches only pages currently in the workspace (respecting any active workspace filters). The label Chat created based on workspace filtered pages is shown when this is active.
Note:
For the most focused and accurate answers, use workspace filtered pages scope after curating your workspace with the most relevant documents.

The coverage of what the AI searches is set using the Coverage control in the bottom toolbar of the chat. Enter a percentage (1-100) to indicate refine document pages coverage.
Asking questions
Type your question in the Message field (up to 1000 characters) and press Send. The AI returns an answer with numbered back-references. Click any reference number (e.g. [3]) to navigate to the source page.
Example questions:
What medical appointments are recorded in this case?
Summarise the correspondence between the claimant and their employer.
Are there any inconsistencies in the dates recorded across documents?
What is the claimant's pain score as documented by Dr Smith?

Saving and managing chats
Each conversation is saved automatically and listed in the left panel by name. Click the three-dot menu next to any chat to rename or delete it. Chats can be kept private or shared with other case users — see the chat settings for visibility options.
Сopying responses for custom documents
Any AI response can be copied for the custom document in the case by clicking the copy icon under the response. The copied response includes the full answer and back-references to all source pages. See document D3 — Custom Documents for details.
